You are all alone during your parenting time. A single parent, in my opinion, is a mom or a dad who is not in a marriage or who is a widow or widower. Being a single parent means that when you are with your kids (however much that is), you are solely responsible for them.

What makes someone a single mom?

A single parent is a person who lives with a child or children and who does not have a spouse or live-in partner. Reasons for becoming a single parent include divorce, break-up, abandonment, domestic violence, rape, death of the other parent, childbirth by a single person or single-person adoption.
