Why you should become a firefighter?

The No. 1 reason to be a firefighter is to serve others. Although trained to make wise decisions and prepare for emergencies, firefighters know the risk of injury or even death is present on every call. The willingness to take that risk to save someone else is truly the nature of someone with a servants heart.

Will being a paramedic help me become a firefighter?

Not all firefighters are required to be paramedics, but most departments do require you to be an EMT. However, many fire departments, particularly in the US, are giving priority to recruiting firefighters who are licensed paramedics and some departments do require it.

What do you gain from being a firefighter?

Being in the fire service gives you job security and retirement security. The fire service is always in demand. And therefore, there is always a need for firefighters. Not only does it give you security throughout your working years, the fire service also provides security for when you reach retirement age.

What age is too late to be a firefighter?
